COUNTY SUPERVISOR RYAN CLANCY

County Supervisor Ryan Clancy represents District 4 on the near south-side and Bay View. From a background of activism and organizing, Clancy was elected in 2020. In May of 2020, while observing and documenting police brutality during the early days of Milwaukee’s widespread protests, he was tackled, detained and arrested. Through both budget and legislative processes, Supervisor Clancy has pushed to move resources away from the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and towards human needs, and to move the MCSO and correctional facilities towards accountability and transparency.

Most recently, Clancy has spearheaded the declarations of a Right to Shelter for all residents and a Right to Counsel which will provide an attorney for no cost for people experiencing eviction or foreclosure. He is also pushing for access to no-cost communications (video, voice and texting) for individuals who are incarcerated to enable them to better maintain and develop connections with their families, loved ones and larger communities.
