JAMES CAUSEY
James E. Causey is an award-winning projects writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Causey has spent more than 30 years as a professional journalist. Causey graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He continued his education at Cardinal Stritch University and received his MBA in 2002.
In 2019-’20 Causey received an O’Brien Fellowship from Marquette University. During his time at Marquette he worked on the project “Milwaukee’s Promise,” which looked for solutions to Milwaukee’s eviction; housing; Black male teacher shortage; mentoring shortage; and racism issues. In 2008, Causey received a Nieman Fellowship from Harvard University. During his time there he studied the effects of hip-hop music on urban youth.
